Soon you won’t be considered a criminal when you’re caught with weed in Philadelphia. Mayor Micahel Nutter confirmed Monday that he will sign a bill into law decriminalizing the drug.
Nutter wasn’t a fan of legalizing marijuana in the past but he told KYW Newsradio that he has seen too many of his citizens hit with charges for tiny amounts of weed.
“So I think the agreement ends up putting the city and our citizens in a much better place,” Nutter told CBS News, noting that signing the bill won’t be the same as condoning marijuana use.
Earlier reports suggest that he’ll sign the bill this week but it’s most likely going to be another two weeks before the bill is signed.
