Pasco Prison Escapee To Return To Court

Jason Adams

He escaped twice but for the second time a Department of Corrections inmate will face a judge for his escaping.

Jason Adams, 27, will return to court to face a judge Thursday afternoon. Pasco County Sheriff investigators say he admitted to walking away from work detail on State Road 54 in Lutz on September 8. He was located in Hillsborough County by a deputy a day later. Adams also claimed he escaped from DOC on August 28 but returned before anyone found out.

Surveillance video from the Metro Food Mart on State Road 54 shows Adams bought alcohol, cigarettes and other tobacco with cash.

He was in prison for some burglary charges. According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, there are a lot of unanswered questions involving Adam’s case.

The DOC announced more unannounced visits Wednesday. Sheriff Chris Nocco says other charges are being considered to prevent escapes in the future.
