Pasco County May End “Predatory” Towing

Pasco County commissioners are considering a ban on towing vehicles left overnight in parking lots of restaurants and bars.

Supporters of the ban say people who drink and decide not to drive should not be punished.

The proposed ordinance would allow patrons to leave their cars until noon the next day.

Some bars and restaurants in Pasco County do allow overnight parking for customers.

But many do not, posting signs that allow tow companies to haul their car away.

Drivers then must pay expensive fees to get their car back.
