Parents Of Citrus Boy Killed By Dogs Arrested

CITRUS COUNTY, FL — The parents of a north Florida toddler who was killed by the family’s Rottweilers have been arrested on manslaughter and child neglect charges.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Christopher Camejo and 31-year-old Claudia Scarbrough were home when the dogs attacked their son on Dec. 6. Detectives say the parents were not supervising 2-year-old Christopher and his 5-year-old sister and 1-year-old brother.

The boy’s body was found in the family’s backyard in Crystal River.

An investigation found the parents were under the influence of multiple narcotics on the day of their son’s death.

Their other two children are in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Camejo and Scarbrough were arrested Monday It was not known whether they have hired attorneys.
