PARKER, Fla. — A woman is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer when she walked through a Florida RV park threatening to lock up unruly juveniles and place witnesses in protective custody.

The News Herald of Panama City reports 40-year-old Morcia Dawn Lowery walked the grounds of Smuggler’s Cove RV Park in Parker wearing a shirt with a police insignia. She was arrested Sunday.

Police say Lowery had told residents she was working with child protective services and had ended up in the Panhandle after a drug bust gone horribly wrong.

Smuggler’s Cove property manager Crystal Britt says they called police after her tales became increasingly suspicious and she fell $1,500 behind on rent.

Lowery is charged with impersonating an officer and grand theft. It’s unknown whether she has an attorney.
