The Oviedo mother accused of killing her 17-year-old daughter then turning the gun on herself told police from her hospital room that she was intent on committing suicide and killed her daughter first, believing that no one else would care for the child.
The mother, Sujatha Guguru, is now formally accused of first-degree premeditated murder, Oviedo police reported today.
A judge yesterday signed an arrest warrant, accusing her of that crime. She is now at Orlando Regional Medical Center, recovering from a self-inflected gunshot wound, police reported.
