WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -A student was shot Wednesday afternoon outside West Orange High School and deputies continue to search for the shooter, who fled through school property, according to Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.
The shooting occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the the school, which is located on Beulah Road in Winter Garden, just south of the Florida Turnpike.
Orange County Public Schools spokeswoman Kathy Marsh said the student was alert, but his condition was not immediately known.
