ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ The man who authorities say abducted his ex-girlfriend, stuffed her in the trunk of her car and killed her has been captured after a three-day manhunt.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Angelo Nieves tells local news outlets a tipster informed deputies Saturday afternoon that 62-year-old David Payne was at an Orlando Sam’s Club.
Deputies had been searching for Payne since his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Jasmine Samuel, seen above, was found dead Thursday morning.
Nieves says deputies caught Payne as he left the store.
He was arrested on first-degree murder and armed kidnapping charges.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said at a news conference Samuel called 911 early Thursday to report that she had been forced into the trunk of her.
She later was found dead from a gunshot wound in her car.
