Orlando: Free Thanksgiving meal expected to draw 25,000

Eric Holm, 57, the Central Florida Golden Corral executive who began offering free Thanksgiving meals more than two decades ago, is again joining forces with the Salvation Army in Orlando to host a massive holiday feast for the community. Holm is bracing for 25,000.

The event, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, is only one of at least a half-dozen free meals being offered in Central Florida on Wednesday and Thursday. But in terms of scale, no other comes close to Holm’s “Helpings from the Heart.”
