An Orange County deputy is dead after he was shot while investigating a car burglary in West Orange County.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said around 11 p.m. Monday deputies were called to the to the Chatterly Way apartment complex in the area of Apopka Vineland Road and Conroy Windermere Road to check out a call relating to a car break-in.
The Sheriff’s Office said the deputy made contact with a possible suspect at Apopka-Vineland Road and Westminster Abbey Boulevard and at some point shots were fired.
