Occupy Tampa Protesters Arrested

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Two Occupy Tampa protesters are accused of interfering with officers’ efforts to keep the crowd away from traffic.

Tampa police say callers told them about 50 protesters were blocking the  intersection of Kennedy and Dale Mabry about 8:40 p.m. Sunday. Police say most of the crowd dispersed when officers arrived.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/wFSlx9 ) reports one woman refused orders to get out of traffic and was arrested after a brief struggle with police.

A man was arrested when he approached officers with clenched fists.

Police say the man and woman told them their protest was in response to the crackdown on the Occupy movement in Oakland, Calif.
