New Congress Gets To Work; Will Speaker Boehner Retain His Title?

The 114th Congress is set to take the Hill on Tuesday, with all kinds of clashes ahead with President Obama on everything from the XL Pipeline to the Debt Ceiling to continued efforts aimed at repealing the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare).

Meanwhile, Congress is set to vote on the next Speaker of the House on Tuesday. John Boehner needs to win another vote Tuesday to retain his title. Like two years ago, a disorganized-but-vocal band of conservatives has vowed to oppose Boehner, either by calling out someone else’s name during the vote, or simply abstaining or voting “present.”
