NBC’s Hit TV Show “Americia’s Got Talent” Comes to St. Petersburg

NBC’s Hit TV show “America’s Got Talent” is a competition that showcases a variety of acts from singers, comedians, and theater groups, to musicians, dancers, and ventriloquists.  They perform for judges and an audience and viewers vote to determine the winner, who receives $1 million and a gig in Las Vegas.

Yesterday there were two tapings at the St. Petersburg Mahaffey Theater with about 15 acts that were chosen from preliminary auditions; another 15 are expected to perform today and the show’s seventh season is slated to premiere May 14th and 15th.

Hundreds of people were turned away from yesterdays early noon taping, even though some held tickets printed out weeks earlier, but those who managed to get inside found it funny, energized and entertaining thanks to those auditioning as well as the star power of Host Nick Cannon, Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne and newly hired judge and shock jock Howard Stern.

Fans had printed out Free tickets from the shows online website and at the show’s first taping at noon Tuesday, one staffer told fans they stopped seating after about 1,200 people , which left leaving hundreds to wait outside in the sun for the 5 p.m. show.

By 5 p.m., the ticket issued seemed to have been worked out because some fans who had been turned away earlier in the day were given priority seating for the later show.

America’s Got Talent has two more auditions scheduled for noon and 5 p.m. today but you should know that even though you many have a ticket, it may not guarantee admittance.
