Mixed Reaction To de Blasio At Police Academy Graduation

Bill de Blasio
Amid backlash from members of the NYPD, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed new police cadets on at a police graduation ceremony. The Mayor was introduced to boos, catcalls, and polite applause at the ceremony where 900 police recruits graduated.

At one point when the mayor told the cadets that they would be responding to problems they did not create, someone in the crowd shouted at the mayor, “no, you did.” Some recruits stifled laughs or smiles, to remain necessarily stoic.

This comes days after hundreds of officers turned their backs away from the mayor during his eulogy for one of the two officers shot and killed while on duty.
