ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) _ Officials say a missing central Florida mother and baby have been found alive and well.
Authorities in Altamonte Springs have been searching for 21-year-old Jessica “Elizabeth” McCreery and 7-month-old Penelope Hogarth since Tuesday. When police visited the home they shared with 46-year-old David Hogarth, he failed to cooperate. Officers arrested him on drug charges after finding a grow house inside the home. Police said Hogarth’s comment made them believe the two were in danger.
Late Thursday, Hogarth’s attorney Mark O’Mara provided Altamonte Springs police with a photo depicting the mother and child. McCreery was holding a piece of paper with Thursday’s date printed on it. Sgt. Rob Pelton said they worked with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to authenticate the photos. A news conference is planned for Friday afternoon outside O’Mara’s Orlando law office.
