Update: 10:12 a.m. The shooting is now considered a death investigation. The victim has died. The name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Preliminary information shows that the victim was taken to a
7-11 located at 2400 U.S. 41 in Land O’Lakes with a gunshot wound to the
stomach. The victim, identified only as a 26 year old male was transported
with life threatening injuries to St. Joseph’s North in Tampa via ambulance
where he was pronounced.
8:05 a.m A 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound was taken to a Land O’ Lakes convenience store early today, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies are at another location in Land O’ Lakes that appears to be where the shooting occurred, the sheriff’s office said. The agency did not disclose that location.
The man has potentially life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
He arrived wounded at the 7-Eleven, at 2400 U.S. 41, and the sheriff’s office was called at 4:16 a.m. Deputies arrived three minutes later, the sheriff’s office said.
The man was transported via Bayflite to a local hospital.
