Man Says He Was Beaten At Bar For Not Wearing Shirt

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A man says he was badly beaten by a Panhandle bartender after refusing to put on a shirt.

Panama City police say they are investigating the alleged beating, which happened Sunday at the Oasis Lounge.

The News Herald of Panama City reports a caller from the bar told police that the bartender had to subdue a belligerent customer.

When police arrived, the bartender said he hit the man after the man swung at him in a dispute over his refusal to cover up. The man had a gash over one eye, a busted lip and was bleeding from one of his ears.

No charges have been filed, but an investigation is ongoing.
