A single car motor vehicle accident occurred on A1A, north of Bahia Mar Road Tuesday night.
Investigation revealed that a 2011 Jaguar driven by Mr. Trevor E. Smith, 74 of Vero Beach,had been traveling north on A1A passing through the intersection of Bahia Mar Road. The vehicle then crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The vehicle suffered extensive damage and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department and EMS.
Trevor Smith was transported to Indian River Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
