Man Charged After Attacking ACT Employee

Police have arrested and charged 33 year-old Terrod Arrington with arson and battery after attacking an ACT employee at the Animal Coalition of Tampa, located at 502 North Gilchrist Avenue, Tampa. The suspect went to the Animal Coalition of Tampa several times last week and caused disturbances in the lobby.

During one of the encounters, he pushed an ACT employee. On Saturday 4/19, officers responded to an intrusion alarm at the hospital. When they arrived, they discovered a patient (dog) in the parking lot and a fire in the office. It appears the arson suspect released the dog before setting the fire. Tampa Fire Rescue responded and extinguished the blaze.

Three cats died in the fire. Detectives have a warrant for the suspect’s arrest for pushing the employee. He’s wanted for questioning in the arson. ACT and Silverback Peace Group have offered a $6,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who set the fire. Arrington also has a warrant for his arrest in Maryland for Aggravated Assault.
