Man Arrested Minutes After Armed Robbery Call

Quick work by Clearwater Police officers resulted in the arrest of an armed bank robbery suspect within minutes of the call Friday morning.

According to police, the initial call came in at 8:34 a.m. in reference to an armed robbery at Fifth Third Bank downtown at 1150 Cleveland St. Eight minutes later, at 8:42 a.m., the gun-toting, mask-wearing bandit was taken into custody before he could get out of the area.

Gregory F. Holley, 49, was arrested and will be charged in the incident. He is a possible suspect in many other robberies across the Tampa Bay area.

The investigation continues.
