Man Arrested For Not Following Obligations

The Hernando County deputies were dispatched to 21317 Campbell Drive in Brooksville on Thursday regarding a verbal disturbance.

Dispatchers received information from a caller that the people within the residence were involved in a verbal disturbance over living arrangements. A male roommate was unable to come up with his portion of the rent, and at least two of the other roommates wanted him to vacate.

Deputies arrived to find Robert Engelsman and his live-in girlfriend, Angela Jones, at the residence on Campbell Drive. Along with them, roommates Lori Caldwell and Thomas Mulchaey. Caldwell and Mulchaey advised deputies that Engelsman moved in to the Campbell Drive address on June 1. They told deputies that he was unable to pay his portion of the rent and they wanted him to vacate.

Deputies checked Engelsman’s identification to confirm his permanent address. He is a registered sexual offender and is required to change his address within 48 hours of moving from one residence to another. His residential address was listed in Sumter County, Florida.

Deputies obtained sworn statements from Jones, Caldwell, and Mulchaey attesting to the fact that Engelsman had been residing at the Campbell Drive address for over three weeks.

Engelsman was arrested for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Obligations.

He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and his bond was set at $20,000.
