A Lutz man has been arrested and charged with seven counts of child pornography.
Tampa police say that they’re arrested 68-year-old David Warren at his home at 862 Warren Road in Lutz at 8:00 a.m.
After a joint investigation with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, detectives from both agencies conducted a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and he was arrested.
Hillsborough County School Security contacted the Tampa Police Department after an iPod with questionable images was turned in. At that point, it was unclear who the iPod belonged to. Officers responded and drafted a search warrant for the device.
After the search warrant and an FDLE analysis, several hundred images of young boys were discovered on the iPod. Through the investigation, the iPod was tracked back to the suspect’s IP address and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives assisted with the investigation and search warrant of the suspect’s home.
The suspect admitted the iPod belonged to him and he was arrested without incident.
The joint investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
