Flood Waters Recede, Problems Rise

Hundreds of new potholes and depressions are left by weeks of rain across Tampa Bay.

One depression is in front of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. But all hospital entrances are open.

Receding river waters across west central Florida are leaving behind huge puddles on streets and in yards plus wet home interiors.

Hundreds affected by the river floods will have to stay in shelters until it’s safe to go home.

Recent flooding is likely to create a health hazard too. Officials warn that there are signs that mosquito-borne West Nile Virus is on the rise in Pinellas County.
