Could A Little Extra Weight Raise Blood Pressure?

It doesn’t take much for one to gain a bit of weight, especially as the holiday season is coming up. However, even gaining an extra 10 lbs could have dire consequences for one’s blood pressure. According to a preliminary study done by the American Heart Association, even just gaining 5 lbs could increase one’s blood pressure.

From the author:  “Our research suggests that healthy people who are more likely to gain weight in the stomach area are also more likely to have their blood pressure increased.”
