A Lakeland man is charged with the first degree murder of his own father.
Authorities say 23-year-old Vincent Moccia admits hitting 52-year-old Anthony Moccia III in the head with a hammer during an argument at the family’s 1st Street NW home.
The younger Moccia fled in a pick up truck but was later arrested when he got into an accident at Roby Way and Kathleen Road.
Vincent Moccia has been in the Polk County Jail eight times before and has done state prison time.
