Teacher Resigns After Accusations Of Sex

CLERMONT, Fla. (AP) — A high school teacher in Clermont has resigned after being accused of having sex with a former student in his classroom.

Multiple news outlets report that 41-year-old Marshall Jungreis told school officials in a letter dated Friday that he wishes to pursue employment opportunities elsewhere.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Lt. John Herrell says Jungreis was arrested last week on a charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor after being accused of contacting a 17-year-old former student on a dating website in November. Herrell says Jungreis picked the student and brought her to a classroom where they had sex.

Herrell says Jungreis has denied having sex with the student.

Jungreis was released from jail on a $25,000 bond.
