Scott To Release 2016 Spending Plans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida Gov. Rick Scott is going to release his spending recommendations for the coming year.

Scott will formally announce his budget recommendations on Monday during a stop at a sign manufacturing company in Jacksonville.

The Republican governor has already announced that some of his top priorities for 2016 include $1 billion in tax cuts and $250 million to lure companies to move to Florida.

But Scott has yet to show what spending items he would skip in order to pay for the large tax cut package.

Some legislators have already sounded skeptical about the size of the tax cut proposal.

Scott is releasing his budget recommendations early because the Florida Legislature is starting its session earlier next year.

Legislators will start their annual session in January.
