Jacksonville: 2 Firefighters Hospitalized While Fighting Fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Two Jacksonville firefighters are hospitalized after being injured while battling a house fire.

Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Tom Francis tells The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1hYxN8q ) that one firefighter jumped from a second-floor window during the fire Thursday night.

Francis says the firefighter jumped because there was no other way out.

It’s unclear how the second firefighter was injured. Officials say both firefighters are in stable condition.

The house fire was one of several overnight blazes in Jacksonville that left one person dead and two other people critically injured.
