Gov Scott Trying To Lure Connecticut Jobs To Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida Gov. Rick Scott is heading to Connecticut on a quick two-day jaunt as part of his ongoing effort to lure businesses to relocate to the Sunshine State.

Scott will arrive in Connecticut early Thursday evening and is expected to attend a reception with business leaders. He is holding a business round table on Friday and plans to also have one-on-one meetings with corporate executives.

The governor’s arrival coincides with a radio ad the state’s economic development organization started running this week in the state. That ad tells businesses to consider moving to Florida because Connecticut leaders are raising taxes while Florida is cutting taxes.

This is the third jobs-seeking trip Scott has made this year to other states. In every trip Scott is visiting states led by Democratic governors.
