Israelis Head To Polls Tuesday

Israelis go to the polls on Tuesday to elect their next government. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in a battle for his political life. Polls show a coalition led by Isaac Herzog has a small lead over Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud Party.

Netanyahu’s controversial March 3 speech to the U.S. Congress, where he assailed President Obama’s efforts to cut a deal curbing Iran’s nuclear program, failed to give him much of a boost at home. Herzog has pulled into the lead by attacking Netanyahu for soaring housing prices, stalled peace talks and frayed ties with the U.S.
