Wednesday President Barack Obama, at the White House with a number of his top military and other key terrorist advisers held a press conference to reassure the rest of the United States that they were safe as millions of travelers set off for the long Thanksgiving weekend. As News Talk Florida has reported authorities have stepped up security at airports in response to the attacks in Paris two weeks ago and there are special precautions both in Washington and New York, but no real fear that terrorist will act this holiday weekend.
Meanwhile, yesterday there was yet another video released by the Islamic State group (aka ISIS or ISIL) featuring a man who was almost taunting the countries that were targeting and that includes the United States “bring it on.” The man in the ISIS video spoke perfect English and made it clear they did not fear any of the super powers that were dead set on killing them. In fact they proclaimed that ISIS is a movement in establishing “a state built on the prophetic methodology” and mocks the high suicide rate among U.S. soldiers.
“This is the source of our glory: our obedience to our lord. We are uncompromising in our call to Tawhid [Islamic monotheism]. We only call to Allah, unlike the countless deviant factions raising their false banners,” the voice says.
The quality of all ISIS produced videos are state of the art and they understand how to get their point across in a very dramatic way. The subject of the video is that the U.S. and their partners fighting ISIS around the world are “too weak” to put boots on the ground in ISIS-held places in Syria and Iraq, and says its army fights on behalf of “legislators, liars, fornicators, corporations and for the freedoms of sodomites.”
Militants will eventually fight “80 banners,” the voice says, purportedly citing a religious prophecy. Currently, 60 nations have joined the fight against ISIS, and the video features an image of each nation’s flag. The narrator calls them a “coalition of devils.”
Part of the success of ISIS as a terrorist group is their ability to use video and social media to both recruit, send out propaganda and as was the case in Paris to coordinate attacks. A recent Washington Post story talked about the money and creativity ISIS puts into their videos.
The Post reported that writers and producers of these terrorist videos are well paid and treated very well by the group. They many times are well paid, given amazing living quarters and cars as part of the compensation.
There is no question that ISIS is indeed a force to be reckoned with and their ISIS Production arm is a very effective tool in their battle arsenal.
