Is There A Better Way To Care For Our Vets?

The issue of medical care for America’s heroes remains a pressing one.

“Problems continue for our veterans – an obscenely high rate of suicide and insufficient governmental response to their medical needs are among the most urgent,” says Vicki Fischenich, a nurse and director of clinical affairs for OSNovative Systems.

25 percent of our vets have diabetes, which increases the chances for sufferers to develop wounds that won’t heal. That puts them at risk for infection and complications that can lead to amputation and even death. Veteran patients have 4 times higher amputation rate than same age public or private patients.
