A stretch of highway known as “Old Dixie Highway” that runs through the West Palm Beach suburb of Riviera Beach may change the name to “President Barack Obama Highway.
The name change met with some resistance but after public comment and deliberation, the city council voted four to five to approve the change.
It would still need to be approved by the Palm Beach County Commission before it is final.
