Howard: No Thoughts Of Trade As Magic Host Lakers

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Magic center Dwight Howard may get a glimpse of his future team when Orlando hosts the Los Angeles Lakers. However, Magic general manager Otis Smith says he’s in no hurry to move his star by the trade deadline.

The Lakers visit Orlando on Friday. Howard’s agent is permitted to explore trades with the Lakers, New Jersey and Dallas.

Smith said he won’t make a trade before the March 15 deadline just for the sake of satisfying Howard’s preseason request.

He said the real pressure may be on teammate Jameer Nelson. Howard previously noted a desire to play alongside other point guards.
