High School Student Hit by Vehicle, Airlifted to Hospital

A high school student from St. Cloud, FL was airlifted to a hospital this morning after being hit by a vehicle.

According to the St. Cloud Fire Department, the 17-year-old student was riding his bike without a helmet on 13th street near Michigan Avenue. At around 7 a.m., the vehicle struck the young student and a witness told WESH 2 that the driver abandoned the vehicle after the crash.

A silver car was found on the scene with a shattered windshield and damage towards the front of the car. The charges against the driver are still to be determined.

The student was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-fatal injuries, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
