George Zimmerman Shot At During Road Rage Incident

George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watchman who shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin, is recovering from minor wounds to his face after an incident on a Lake Mary road Monday.

Police say Zimmerman was driving near Trailhead Park when another vehicle pulled up next to him and the driver fired a shot into Zimmerman’s SUV.

The bullet barely missed Zimmerman’s head, but flying glass left him with several cuts to his face.

The driver, 35 year old Matthew Apperson, apparently had a road rage run-in with Zimmerman last September.

Apperson is talking to police and no charges have yet been filed.

Since his acquittal of murder charges in the Trayvon Martin case, Zimmerman has had several run-ins with the law but no charges have been filed.
