One person was killed and three others seriously hurt after a stabbing near Apopka. The attack happened just before 4 a.m. yesterday near State Road 436 and Wekiwa Springs Road. Investigators say 22 year old Marcos Alvarez-Jiminez died at a hospital. Another man and two women were also stabbed, but suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
23 year old Daniel Leija was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder. Authorities say Leija is not being cooperative. In 2011, Leija was sentenced to five years probation for aggravated assault with a weapon and simple battery.
