Four More Charged With Hazing At FAMU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Court records show four Florida A&M band members have been charged with hazing after students were beaten and paddled during initiations last year at a home in Tallahassee.

Records released Friday say the four students were in a subgroup of the clarinet section known as the Clones. The four students were booked and released on bail earlier this week.

Hazing at the university has been under intense scrutiny since FAMU drum major Robert Champion died in November. Authorities say he suffered blows to his body during a hazing ritual in Orlando. No charges have been filed in his death.

In a separate case, three band members were arrested in the Oct. 31 beating of a woman band member whose thigh bone was broken.
