Fog, Rain, Then Colder Weather

A cold-front sweeping through Tampa Bay on Thursday should bring an end to unseasonably warm and humid weather, meteorologists say.

But first, some fog and rain.

A line of showers moving east from the Gulf of Mexico was expected to bring rain Thursday morning into the early afternoon, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.

The cold front should move in sometime this afternoon, though temperatures were still expected to peak in the low 80s. Winds will also pick up beginning Thursday, making for a breezy end to the work week. We’ll first start noticing the cooler temperatures this evening, but will definitely be able to tell the difference Friday, Marquez said.

“Tomorrow morning,” she said, “is going to be a different story.”

Friday morning lows are expected to drop into the 50s and 60s around Tampa Bay. Parts of Pasco and Hernando could see temperatures in the low 50s
