A Pasco County sex offender was arrested Wednesday after investigators said they found thousands of child pornography videos and images at his home.
Billy-Jim Herrington, 39, of Zephyrhills, faces 25 counts of possession of child pornography, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said. Pasco authorities are also charging Herrington with failing to register an email address or instant message name.
Federal, state and local investigators served a search warrant at Herrington’s home, at 38114 Seventh Ave., and located more than 27,000 child pornography videos during a preliminary investigation, the FDLE said.
Investigators believe there could be more than 75,000 images of child pornography on a computer in the home, the FDLE said.
Herrington is listed on Florida’s sex offender registry. He was convicted for lewd and lascivious acts with a child younger than 16 in April 1995 and served six years in prison, records show.
