As if the threat of the most powerful and dangerous storm heading towards Florida wasn’t enough, another tropical storm has formed in the Atlantic behind Hurricane Irma.
On Tuesday afternoon Tropical Storm Jose formed just east of Irma. As of now, the tropical storm poses no threat to Florida or any of the U.S. but it’s too far out to tell if that’ll change.
Jose’s wind speeds right now are 40 mph and the storm is located about 1,505 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.
Going into this hurricane season forecasters warned about an active season. Jose is the 10th named storm so far and is expected to gain strength and reach hurricane wind speeds later this week.
