Trayvon Martin Case Update

A new video has been released that was taken of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer, the night 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed.

The surveillance footage came from the Sanford Police and it shows Zimmerman in handcuffs as officers took him in for questioning the night of the shooting in February.

What makes the video important is that it appears that there were no noticeable bruises or gashes on Zimmerman’s head; which brings into question his account of the situation that night, because he says Trayvon Martin attacked him first, smashing his head to the ground and causing him to have a bloody nose.

The footage has been turned over to Angela Corey, the special prosecutor appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to lead the state’s investigation into Martin’s death, and may be enough to decide if Zimmerman’s story matches up with what’s in the video.
