Putting rumors to rest, Trader Joe’s officially filed paperwork to move into a location at 3808 W. Swann Ave. in South Tampa.
Centennial American Properties filed a variance request requesting to double the amount of signage allowed on the 1-acre site to a total of four, the Tampa Bay Times said. The location is home to the gym Shapes. Despite the fact that the specialty supermarket it expressly named in the documents, the California-based chain has not commented on expansion.
Memberships to the gym have not yet been refunded and it is unclear when Shapes will close, the Times said.
