OCOEE, Fla. (AP) — A central Florida toddler was struck in the head when a gun discharged inside her home.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/vlyO7w ) reports the child was in critical condition when she was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando Monday evening.
Police say an adult cousin was putting a 22-caliber handgun into a box when it fired. A bullet went through a wall and into the bedroom where the child was struck.
Ocoee detective Jim Berish told the newspaper it appears to be a “sad accident.”
Police are continuing their investigation.
