Tiger Woods Event Moving Back To Florida

Tiger Woods is moving his World Challenge from his old home in California to his old golf course in Florida.

Woods said Friday that his unofficial event in December will move next year to Isleworth Country Club outside Orlando, Fla., where Woods honed his professional game from 1996 until moving away to south Florida two years ago.

The World Challenge had been at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., since 2001. The 18-man field remains popular with the players. And while the money is unofficial, the tournament in 2010 began awarding world ranking points.

Sherwood previously was part of the golf landscape as the longtime course for the Shark Shootout.

Starting next year, the World Challenge will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation and the Tavistock Group.
