50 thousand dollars…that’s the pay raise Tampa International Airport director Joe Lapano got from the Aviation authority board yesterday.
That brings Lapano’s compensation up to an even 300 thosuand dollars a year.
Three board members approved the raise…Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Victor Crist voted against it.
The issue had come up before and Lopano refused the money–saying times were too tough. But board members said Lopano has done a good job leading TIA since taking the job on January first of last year.
