Three Manatee Schools Administrators Suspended

coach_2013The Manatee County school district’s investigation into alleged misconduct by a football coach has resulted in two administrators stepping down and three others being suspended without pay.

Former district investigator Debra Horne retired and former staff attorney Scott Martin resigned before Monday night’s school board meeting.

During the meeting, the board voted 5-0 to suspend assistant superintendent Bob Gagnon, and former Manatee High assistant principals Matthew Kane and Gregg Faller.

Gagnon, Kane, Faller and Horne have been criminally charged with failure to report child abuse in the wake of a scandal involving former Manatee High assistant coach Rod Frazier. Kane and Gagnon were also charged with providing false information to police.
