Sunday at around 3:25 pm, the Florida Highway Patrol notified the Hillborough County Sheriff’s Office that a man parked his gray four door vehicle in the southbound lanes over the center span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and jumped over the side.
Approximately 15 minutes later, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit recovered a body found floating facedown in the center channel.
The mans body has been taken to O’Neill’s Marina in south St. Petersburg and turned over to HCSO.
Detectives have not released the mans identify pending notify of his next of kin.
