NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco saya four people have been arrested on charges of selling synthetic marijuana— also called “spice” — at three businesses.
The arrests were announced Tuesday during an investigation dubbed “Operation Consequence.”
All of the people arrested worked at three convenience stores and gas stations.
Deputies seized 30 packets of synthetic marijuana from one gas station and more than 60 packets at the other two locations.
Samples of the drugs were forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab in Tampa, which found the drugs contained a cannabinoid known as “XLR11” which is now a Schedule 1 controlled substance under Florida law.
