School Honor Long Time Retiring Principal

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS – Faculty members, alumni and friends gathered recently to congratulate Hillsborough High School principal William T. Orr on his retirement.

Orr has served as principal of the school at 5000 Central Ave. since 2004.

The reception in the school’s media center featured assorted party foods and punch prepared by the school’s culinary arts students; the school’s orchestra provided the music.

“This school has a lot of tradition and great people,” Orr said. “I’m going to miss the people. But what I am not going to miss is getting up at 5 o’clock.”

Orr began with the Hillsborough County School District in 1979 as an occupational specialist in adult education. In 1984 he became an assistant principal at Armwood High.

In 2004 he moved to Hillsborough High as an assistant principal and was named principal later that year.
